The glycolic peels listed on this page are of the buffered variety. Buffering raises the pH level of the acid so that it is not too strong. A higher pH level will slow-down the action of the acid. They can be left on longer than an unbuffered (professional) variety, and are thus safer. These peels are perfect for at-home usage.
Chemical peels are great for use as anti aging treatments, acne treatments, scar treatments and also to refreshen the skin periodically. Glycolic acid is a great "general" type of acid. It is water soluble, and works nicely on most skin types to accelerate the turnover of skin cells, remove lesions, and restore steadiness.

Directions: This series of peels (30%-50%) is buffered to a pH of 2.1. The Higher pH level slows down the action of the peel and makes it safer for home usage. Many spas utilize this strength of peel. We suggest this series for beginners. |
